Human Resources (HR) and Organizational Effectiveness (OE) leader with 30+ years’ experience including driving global HR and OE strategy for leading organizations in the biopharmaceutical and vaccines industries with companies such as Pfizer/Wyeth, Johnson & Johnson and Glaxo SmithKline/SmithKline Beecham (GSK).
Ed has led global HR teams in drug and vaccine development with a focus on building and maintaining effective, highly functional R&D organizations. While at GSK he successfully designed and implemented an R&D career ladder and competency model for scientists and engineers to be utilized as a core component in recruitment, performance evaluation, and talent development. At Johnson & Johnson, Ed was HR Leader and member of the R&D Change Management/Process Excellence Team for the successful integration of Janssen Pharmaceutica’s global preclinical and clinical development organizations following its acquisition by Johnson & Johnson and at Wyeth/Pfizer, he led the leadership and talent management process for the global pharmaceutical R&D organization. Also at Wyeth he led an interdisciplinary team in the Preclinical Development Organization that designed and implemented a tool with guidelines to streamline communications between the Drug Safety & Metabolism Group and the Chemical & Pharmaceutical Development Group.
Ed is also an experienced organizational and talent management consultant with client firms in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. His global consulting work has spanned the US, Europe and Asia. In 2013 he received a one-year appointment as “Talent Ambassador” for the city of Jiaxing in Zhejiang Province, China. He also has experience in business development, talent search and evaluation in Executive Search for Life Sciences firms.
