Kunal Jaiswal – Principal

Kunal Jaiswal is a senior leader in the supply chain and operations management arena in the bio-pharmaceutical and associated CDMO industries. He has over 20 years of extensive expertise in operations leadership, strategic planning, and portfolio/project management. Most recently he was the Global Vice President of the Project Management and Logistics business at Catalent Pharma Solutions with P&L accountability. Prior to that, he held roles of increasing responsibilities at both Pfizer and Merck for over 15 years. His responsibilities have included formulation process development, drug product project management, supply chain strategy development, and operations management (from manufacturing to distribution). He has spearheaded several business transformational projects that have resulted in significant operational efficiencies and earnings growth. In addition, he is currently a visiting lecturer at the Rutgers Business School, Supply Chain Management. Finally, he is an active member in industry organizations and was a past chair of the ISPE Investigational Products Steering Committee.
 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Drove P&L for Project Management, Logistics, and Depot Management services (>$100 Million Revenue) at Catalent. Transformed project management services from an “order taking and processing” to a true service operation, focused on building client partnerships grounded in reliable services and expert counseling.
  • Facilitated development of the annual supply chain strategic plan utilizing Quality Function Deployment at Catalent. Developed governance structure to ensure prioritization of initiatives, capital spend, and drove accountability for timely delivery of initiatives.
  • Oversaw external packaging of Pfizer’s entire clinical development portfolio (> 600 clinical protocols and >$40 Million annual spend) including small and large molecules.
  • Constructed an internal GMP packaging operations line for Pfizer to complement external vendor capacity for emergency and quick packaging runs.
  • Established end-to-end supply chain for clinical trial material at Schering Plough. Directed supply planning for Merck’s entire clinical development portfolio (>800 clinical protocols) including small and large molecules.
  • Implemented the “make or buy” strategy at Schering to best manage internal capacity and provide flexibility for the clinical development portfolio.
  • Established a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to manage commercial demand. This systematically led Biovail away from Out-Of-Stock predicaments and improve customer service levels.
  • Delivered the Rogaine (minoxidil) Foam product to the marketplace by leading the CMC team. Project managed the in-licensing of the foam technology and building of a new GMP compliant manufacturing line at a 3rd Party manufacturer. Ensured the CMC package met global regulatory standards.
